doomsaying in l.a.

in an effort to share a dire prediction and test its credibility, i have created a performance to enact through various high-traffic neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

my message concerns the cycle of the planet uranus, symbolic of promethean impulses, and its coincidence with historical events, and so its glyph presides over the banner. i don a cloak over street clothes that approximates uranus’s color and a technofuturist iridescence that evokes its archetype. uranus is currently in taurus, thus the bull ears and horns

as i walk around with my banner, i’ll offer a pamphlet to passersby that goes through basic questions and answers i foresee to be top of mind in response to this prediction.

i consider the current banner a mock-up; the top text is sloppily painted, the silk screen is incomplete, its surrounding text is off center — but it’s functional for test runs through the city to see what changes it may need.
